We are pleased to announce that from tomorrow on new Xtrend-Alliance Team Image 4.2 is available

After huge request from our users we have decided that we support again Xtrend with our release of image 4.2

Image is based on openPLi4.0 and OE-Alliance 2.3

What is new in OE-Alliance Build-Environment 2.3?

• OpenEmbedded-Core August 2014
• gcc 4.9.1
• openSSL
• TimeZone Updates
• a lot of Linux Tools und libs
• many more.

After huge updates of Bitbake, OE_Core Version August 2014 and new GCC 4.9.1 we had to build all new.
Because of this release get a bump and will be now 4.2
With new GCC Images with Kernel 3.14 are now more stable.


What is new in Xtrend-Alliance 4.2 ?

Could be quite possible that something that has worked before , no longer works in the new driver.

• new Driver / Kernel (not yet all models)
• Update openWeb Interface with Support
• now with AutoTimer Support
• now with Bouquet Editor Support
• Update Skin with reworked Screens
• last E2 Updates und fix available

Can i restore old settings on new Trend-Alliance 4.2 Image ?

We recommend not to do so as not to take over old settings and old configurations.
Channel list should be easily reusable.


What happens now with old Xtrend-Alliance Releases ?

Unfortunately, we can not continue to maintain the old releases .


Important changes for all:

With new release at the mipsel boxes the nfs and samba server services are not default in image !!!
SAMBA Shares and NFS Shares as client you can go on to connect your network devices from the box.
But if you want to access from a Windows computer to the box via network browser , you will need to activate it once the services server in the network-menu.
Then the box is again visible in the network
