Note to backup/restore settings:

Backup settings will create a file with installed plugins.
When the Software Manager notice this file after restore it will ask you if you want to install the missing plugins.
Only plugins that are not installed and they are installed on previous image, will be installed.
Ofcourse you can cancel or select the plugins to install.
After restore there will be a restart gui, like always (even if you cancel install plugins).

Information about the future of openAAF. What is OE-Alliance?

OpenVix and openAAF had the idea to create a common build environment for the new OE-CORE and work together to optimize this environment.

Explanation: OE-CORE is a build environment by Openembedded, Dream multimedia calls it OE 2.0, openPli calls it Pli 3.0

All teams are using almost the identical build environment, so why not creating something together? The answer is the OE-Alliance.

Since we have a name now, we created a GIT repository quickly and the integration can be started.

The OE-Alliance is the base for each team, which is interested in building an OE-CORE image. We have discussed this already with several teams and they quickly agreed to work together.
We think that our new companionship should be visualized, so we created a logo. We call it the Seal.

The seal contains one golden star for each team which is part of the OE-Alliance. As you see we currently have 5 stars, representing the following teams: (14.07.2012)

openAAF , openViX , openMips , Egami Team , Team Red

Because the OE-Alliance is the build environment, each team will continue to provide his own team image. As you know each team maintains his own Enigma and his own skin, which makes the difference of each single team image.

Info: OE-Alliance offers the following: Makefile, Linux, driver, tools, common plugins and technical support among the teams.
For those with technical interest: You can track all changes and improvements in the OE-Alliance GIT from now on.


Each coder is welcome to join, each team, too.


And now to openAAF:
As you certainly have noticed, we haven’t released a new openAAF image during the last weeks. There are two reasons: It’s holiday time and we currently working on the creation of the new openAAF 2.0.

openAAF 2.0 is completely open now and it is based on the OE-Alliance. We made all our sources public and created a new GIT.

Any help is welcome to make our image even better. Everyone who is interested in joining us is welcome.

 OpenVix a openAAF mal nápad na vytvorenie spoločného budovanie prostredia pre nové OE-CORE a spoločne pracovať na optimalizáciu tohto prostredia.

Here a short description of the new OpenAAF feature "Quick Launch Menu".

Enigma2 has many settings you can customize to your personal preference.
For beginners, and also advanced users, it's always a sort of adventure to find the correct menu.
From now this should end, want with the Quick Launch Menu you have all needed menus nearby.
We did bundle the menu's that you need to (first) setup your box.
